Queen Hotel,

Cheater.

21st August 1917.

Ree.

Mr Edward Jones, Pensioner, HongKong, presented himself to me

for Medical Examination yesterday. His general condition is by

no means satisfactory.

He states that his health has improved recently, but if such

is the case, it must have been extremely poor before. He is still

intensely Anaemic, and his heart is dilated and there are marked

murmure over it. He still suffers from Diarrhoea, and has to diet

Thungh himself constantly. There is also some oedema of the legs, ď

this has obviously improved. He is very debilitated, and suffers

from breathlessness on slight exertion,

His Age is only 58 years, but he gives one the impression

of being much older than that,

In my opinion he is quite unfit, even for temporary service,

in a tropical country, and I see no likelihood of his health

improving sufficiently,to allow of his taking up any work at an

early date.

What he requires is complete rest, with appropriate treatment

in a mild climate,

I am
